Several years ago, a childhood friend who’d moved to Texas sent a box of Chocolate Habaneros he had grown. I immediately began to think about how I could make a Chocolate AWE-SAUCE. I wanted to make a hot sauce that had good heat, a little sweetness and chocolate character. CHOCOLATA LAVA is that sauce. After the first year I sought out other brown ripening peppers to add to the CL recipe.
